MEMBER TRAINING FOR CERTIFICATION
Version 1.0 available as of Sept. 24, 2018

UtilityLDPros members holding Levels I, II, III or IV Certification will be required to obtain 24-education hours every two-years to qualify for recertification.

Colleges and universities do not provide college credit for line design training courses mainly because electrical, mechanical, civil and structural college credit courses are already established for these engineering professions.  Customized training is the preferred method to improve the skills for professional engineers and line design technicians in subject matter trades.

UtilityLDPros has formed a relationship with Minnesota State Colleges and University to provide distance learning line design custom training courses. These courses are designed to improve the knowledge of line design professionals and prepare them for certification examinations.  All completed training programs are tracked on the Line Design Professional’s college transcript.

All training programs are delivered over the internet and provide several sample and practice problems.  You will obtain access to each purchased training program for two months once your REGISTRATION is completed.

Line Design Professionals seeking UtilityLDPros certification must successfully pass examinations for each Basic Skill and Line Design Function competency.  Prior to taking the examinations, line designers must become an UtilityLDPros member and meet the line design work experience requirements.

Each competency examination is 1.0-2.0 hours long and can be accessed through the following link, https://mnscu.rschooltoday.com/public/getsubcategory/category_id/298/program_id/53 after you complete your REGISTRATION.  Examination cost does not include any re-take examination.  Examinations are taken at the utility office, are closed book and must be supervised by the engineering or human resource manager.

Participants will be immediately notified if they passed or failed each examination upon completion.  UtilityLDPros will send a Certificate to you for each Level successfully completed.  You will be allowed to include the UtilityLDPros designated Credential after your name.
