RMEL and the Association for Utility Line Design Professionals (UtilityLDPros) is offering a 60-minute webinar to present summary results from the RMEL Distribution Line Design Best Practices Survey that was conducted in March of this year.  Over twenty (20) RMEL Members provided responses to the survey which addressed a wide range of topics including the following aspects of line design:

  • Internal organization and staffing
  • External service contracting
  • Regulatory requirements
  • Education and training for line designers
  • Design criteria and standards
  • Quality and productivity measures in the line design process

UtilityLDPros and RMEL undertook this survey to identify, share, and promote best practices in utility overhead distribution line design.

The webinar leaders, Ted Dimberio and John Miner, will also present an overview of proven "best practices" which, with proper application, can result in designs that are safer, more reliable, and in compliance with the requirements of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and professional engineering laws and regulations.
